I have been working as a freelance artist and educator for over ten years. My own practice focuses on elements of painting and printmaking. I work from drawings and photographs to create layered images on wood, paper and canvases. A lot of my work is based around nature and the human form. I have been observing how this relationship changes through life, highlighting contrasts and vulnerabilities.

I studied Fine Art Printmaking for my BA degree, which I continue to practice today. My passion for painting has developed from working in community settings in which I was asked to create large-scale painting for performances and installations. Since moving to Brighton in 2010 I have concentrated on painting, working mainly in acrylic, I have explored to surrounding areas of the Sussex landscapes to create pieces that explore light and nature with hidden figurative elements.

In 2010 I completed an MA in Art and Design in Education. Through this I was able to combine research with my work as an artist facilitator. This process has strengthened my evaluation and research skills in all the types of projects I work on. I am very interesting in continuing to explore this field as I feel the arts can be essential in improving the mental, emotional and physical well being of many individuals.
